Alexander Nyahn, Snr(1956-2013) on February 16, 2004 to provide needy preventive health services to over 250,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and 50,000 Ivorian Refugees hosted in the humanitarian city of Saclepea, Nimba County, Northern Liberia. CHESS-Liberia envisages a community freed of preventable diseases, poverty and all forms of social and economic marginalization. Mission is to help enhance the economic potency of families at the community levels by engaging in preventive/Community Health, Research and Livelihoods for sustainable development aimed at eradicating extreme poverty and all forms of marginalization. Sustainable Development Goals Commitments: 2016-2021 strategic plan is dedicated toward contributing to SDGs three (Good Health & Well-being) and Six (Clean Water & Sanitation). Goal To ensure community have access to affordable and quality preventive health services for improved wellbeing. Objectives Short Run: Ensure that Community Dwellers have improved preventive health knowledge, access to preventive services and livelihoods that contribute to ending or minimizing preventive health associated deaths and sufferings. Long Run: Ensure the availability of Preventive health staff at all health services points by transitioning by 2023 into the “Liberian Institute for Preventive Health, Research and sustainable community development.” We provide special protective empowerment services to vulnerable and less privileged community/people affected by diseases, conflict/war and natural disaster with women, children and the youthful population at the core of our program designs and implementations.
